“Oscar came to the house, and my love for Kim Crawford came alive” – Andrea

Just off the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County, in a quiet little village called Freeport, lies an old Tudor-style house I call my home. Here, Oscar and I met to discuss my wine wall, which was to be custom-designed.

As we went about discussing the project, he wanted to know what was my vision and budget expectations. Typically, my work days as an executive in the healthcare industry is very demanding and at times overly stressful. So, after a long work week, it is important for me to unwind with a cold glass of Kim Crawford. For me and my partner, purchasing multiple bottles of wine on the weekend was normal, but we are always confronted with the issue of storage given our Tudor home had its limitations on space.

Throughout our conversations, Oscar and I talked about different options on how to go about the project. We assessed layout of the kitchen and the possibility of building the wine wall between the beams in the kitchen wall. After nearly two hours consulting on a design, we became comfortable with the many opportunities the option of building between the beams offered. At that point, we began laying our a potential design including size of the wine wall, type and color of wood to compliment surrounding features of my newly renovated kitchen. After few minor tweaks to the final drawings, a rough sketch was in place to start the project.

As we wrapped up our session, the expectation was that within two weeks we would have a completed wine wall, solving my wine storage challenges. The end result is a beautiful wine wall which we plan to enjoy for many years to come.

Last conversations with Oscar was that I am very pleased with the outcome of the project, the time it took to complete, keeping within budget and the ease in collaborating with him. This wine wall is beautiful, functional and the quality is outstanding.

Let’s have a drink to an amazing design collaboration. Cheers!

For the past fifteen years I have engaged Oscar in remodeling different parts of my home.  My Center-Hall Colonial style house always had great structure, but it was the isolated rooms I found had even great opportunities for a redesign.  Oscar embarked on creating beautiful spaces and objects within my home that I have enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Oscar and I began this journey by identifying what we needed to create an open concept around the kitchen and dining room spaces.  After going over different options, he designed and built a spacious, airy, and elegant modern kitchen of which I was extremely amazed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail.  The next area of focus was the living room where an architectural element was added — coffered ceiling to complement the traditional home design.

Over the years, quite a few rooms in my home have been transformed by the skills, talent and brilliant designs inspired by Oscar and his craft.  Due to his diverse skills and knowledge, my house is filled with a touch of his work every where I turn:  from the custom-built heating covers, bookshelves, entry hallway remodel, wall-papered rooms, and remodeled sunroom.

I can truly say that from start to finish, his work is indeed to be celebrated, admired, and enjoyed for its high-quality finishes and long-lasting beauty.
